Polio eradication action with informed and engaged societies
After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.

Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.

We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at cila.comminitcila.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

Hashtag for summit?

Hi folks - can we please get your input for the hastag for this Summit. Marla and myself just connected quickly and below are the two we developed. We would welcome your ideas and suggestions. It could be that we can run with two hashtags - one descriptive and the other focused on the theme as outlined below. Thoughts?

#sbccsummit2018

#whatworks4change

I suggest #SBCCSummit; it  will capture activity from last summit and everything in between. At the Summit, we can use it in conjunction with other hashtags (e.g. #whatworks4change) still making it the primary hashtag.

I've no problem with either hashtag and yes they could be used individually as name/theme in tweets (both together with a url in a tweet doesn't leave much room for the rest of the tweet but sometimes that won't matter)
